Dear Jillian…
Oh, what fun we had last night, gallivanting around the neighborhood, with you in festive costume and trick-or-treating spirit. This Halloween was your first time to dress up and go door-to-door exuding charm and cutie pie-ness. I can’t count how many folks ooohed and ahhhed at your petite, pumpkin outfit. The best part is when they spotted your shoe coverings as you trotted off. Somehow, that completed the look!
I can’t fib by saying it was all frolicking fun. Some things that kept you on your toes included: a 3-foot, scary spider hanging by one’s door; a sidewalk lit with glowing, skeletal hands; a prankster’s live hand in the candy box; a gentleman’s startling mask; and a skull-topped ghost on a light post. We hope these various spooky elements don’t dampen your anticipation for next year’s Halloween outing. I’m sure it won’t though as I’ve never seen you so quick to knock on a door and take a handful of candy without a second thought. You’ve become a trick-or-treating pro!
Since daddy and I are not ones to give you much candy, we eased you into your saccharine consumption. A fun-size bag of Skittles and M&M’s sealed the deal for a night worthy of all your hard work.
And while we plan to give you some treats every now and then, I’m sure pregnant mommy’s sweet tooth will be working extra hard to share with you and not use the excuse, “Oh, baby would love this [insert candy here.] ;)
Can’t wait ‘til next year, pumpkin…
Love,
Mommy
